The NBA has wrapped up its 2019-20 campaign on October 11 and may start the following season in January next year. That means free agency is likely to take place in the fall and winter rather than the summer. Now let’s have a look at the top 25 free agents of the 2020 NBA season.
1. Fred VanVleet, Toronto Raptors
VanVleet is primed to cash in with his ring. That may happen outside of Toronto with Kyle Lowry owed $30m next season. But how would VanVleet look in a Sixers uniform?
2. DeMar DeRozan, San Antonio Spurs
DeMar DeRozan is a player who was taken straight out of an early ‘90s time capsule. It is impossible to read his market since he exits his prime with a game that is illy-suited for modern basketball.
3. Brandon Ingram, New Orleans Pelicans
Ingram is expected to sign a max deal with the New Orleans as he reaches restricted free agency next month.
4. Danilo Gallinari, Oklahoma City Thunder
It would have been much more prudent for the Sixers to have acquired Gallinari as opposed to Harris from the Clippers last winter. Even though he is out of their price range, Italian Sixers fans in South Jersey and South Philly would be dying to see Gallo on their team.
5. Davis Bertans, Washington Wizards
Davis Bertans is one of the NBA’s premier stretch fours who the Sixers showed their interest in trading for this season, but unfortunately, he will be priced out of the taxpayer MLE. He connected on an absurd 42.4% of his threes on a whopping 8.7 attempts each game this year.
6. Anthony Davis, Los Angeles Lakers
Luckily, he is not leaving.
7. Montrezl Harrell, Los Angeles Clippers
The Sixth Man of the Year will come back with the Clippers next season.
