More and more NBA players use dental protection after they see their colleagues in an accident and leave teeth on the field.
NBA fans are probably familiar with the image of Stephen Curry gnawing on a piece of dental protection, which is not a mandatory tool and is often not of interest to the players.
But over time the image of dental protection increasingly appears more, players know how to protect themselves after witnessing collision situations that make their colleagues lose their teeth.
Reggie Evans
On April 8, 2013, during his first season with the Brooklyn Nets, Reggie Evans lost a tooth in a collision situation with a player on the Charlotte Hornets side. Very quickly he put it on the table and continued to play.
Goran Dragic
Tooth loss is probably not a big deal for Goran Dragic, only in a 2015-16 season, the defender 3 times had an accident on the pitch that made him … lose his teeth.
The first time on December 14, 2015, he collided with AI striker AI Horford and lost a tooth. On 12 April 2016, the Miami Heat defender continued to bleed in a match against the Detroit Pistons.
On May 6, 2016 in the Eastern Semifinal against Toronto Raptors, he received a DeMar DeRozan elbow that caused his teeth to pierce his lips. The doctor must stitch 8 stitches for this unlucky defender.
Carl Landry
Even with a dental guard, the Houston Rockets striker still lost three teeth after Dirk Nowitzki’s powerful elbow, even the Dallas Mavericks legend had to hold his hands in pain after hitting Landry’s mouth.
Isaiah Thomas
In a situation that tried to accompany Otto Porter Jr on the Washington Wizards side, the Boston Celtics defender accidentally hit the opponent’s elbow and immediately a tooth flew out.
Kris Dunn
Instead of choosing a simple basketball situation, Kriss Dunn decided to perform a dunk and balance situation. His face smashed into the ring, causing his jaw to dislocate and … teeth to fly out.
Steve Nash
The MVP twice lost part of his front tooth after Carlos Boozer’s elbow on the Utah Jazz swung it into his mouth. Immediately after the match Steve Nash conducted an interview with ESPN and happily shared about his accident.
Danny Granger
Just one day after signing an extension contract with the Indiana Pacers, Granger met the deadline in the match against the Boston Celtics. After a collision situation, he had to leave the field his two teeth.
